A practice day with DustmxAcademy @ L-Cross

DustmxAcademy showed up at the newly designed L-cross track. With major improvements done by Greg Barker, We planned only going on Saturday but the riders were so impressed we went both days!!!

Kyle Smorenburg getting ready for some motos at the DustmxAcademy camp

We turned up fairly early on Saturday morning with a bunch of riders already on the track and everyone keen to test the track. The layout has been extended and took a little getting used to, the jump faces were real good and a technical track with the jumps and turns after the first session it was all positive feed back by the guys..

Anyway after all the comments likes and favorite sections it was down to business as usual. The riders putting in the motos.
As the day rounded out Both Racso and Kyle Smorenburg were tired as they found out the new layout was a good workout. Racso's fasted time a 1:34 he was able to match that on both the 450 and 250 machine although his laps were more consistent on the 250
Kyle had a solid 1:41 lap time and was able to put that in on the last session on the 2nd last lap when the track was the roughest he followed it up with a 1:42 on the last lap

Sunday, bright and early I had word that we have got DustmxAcademy rider Kyle Bangerter joining us, when we arrived Bangerter was eager to go, although he had to still learn the track Racso Bartra and Kyle Smorenburg got all the webs out the day previous.
Bangerter with a new engine setup put some laps down he was keeping a good pace just little mistakes stopping him from doing the whole moto however he pulled it together on the last moto and set his fastest time a 1:41
Kyle Smorenburg and Racso Bartra Both happy to be back at L-cross for a second day despite the way it tired them out on Saturday.
It was a huge effort for both riders the just kept ticking the laps off and with the pep talks in between sessions improvements were made through out the day. Surprisingly Kyle Smorenburg  and Racso Bartra the same as Kyle Bangerter all put their best times in the last session of the day Smorenburg getting down to a 1:37 with a big effort all the way through the day. Racso managed a 1:31 which thus far i believe is the track record, with Track changes expected he may have been the fastest around that track period!

A special thanks to Chris for keeping the team fed, watered and checking over the bikes you were a great help see you next weekend?

Anyway keep looking out for the DustmxAcademy crew in the signature van with the riders tearing up the tracks!!!

Final round of the South Florida motocross series

DustmxAcademy turned up in full force With Kyle Bangerter, Racso Bartra, Dustin Whitehead and Kyle Smorenburg was able to get out and practice on the saturday just coming back off his broken collar bone.

As the team sat through riders meeting it was a matter of keeping warm on sunday, as temperatures were colder than normal. The track was in great condition the crew did a good job to get it ready for the racing that lay ahead.

16-24
Dustin Whitehead was up first , He blasted out the gate on a brand new crf450 kindly supplied by Kioms for the season  ahead. Dust was looking strong with local Rider Jonathan Cloutier in 2nd place, he would keep the field at bay all the way through till the last lap and just being edged out by Liam flanagan.
Moto 2, Dustin once again came out putting his new bike to work and getting another holeshot, He would put in some solid laps and keep an eye on the track for lines later in the day. Jonathan was able to hold on to 4th it would be good for 2nd overall. Another local rider back from injury Taylor Ditzian was able to sneak on the podium with a 6-2 finish

250C
DustmxAcademy rider Racso Bartra was having trouble with the 250 machine making changes trying to fix the bike, He was able to come out with a good start in moto 1 with 30 riders on the gate, he would battle it out the whole moto with Randy Dioliviera and Mike Morgan having to settle for 7th. Kody Goss had a very strong ride coming through the pack to finish in 2nd behind a very fast and smooth Cameron Fasnacht
Moto2,
There was mayhem all the top guys seemed to be on the floor or with bad starts, Kody Goss saw his opportunity, took the lead and never looked back for the moto and overall win, Mike Morgan snuck in for 3rd overall and 2nd in the moto. Race 1 winner Cameron Fasnacht found himself picking the bike up and slicing through the field for a 9th place finish. Racso Bartra was not having the best day on the 250 he was in constant battles the whole time his never give up attitude pulled him in for a 10th place finish

250D

Kyle Bangerter had made a name for himself in the 450D class and now he set his sights on the more competitive 250 D. Moto1, Kyle got out to a great start, put his head down and never looked back he kept his cool and held on to the 1st place position till the end. Jeno Naples followed him home in 2nd with a good ride. Moto 2,
Kyle Bangerter on his fellow team riders bike Kyle Smorenburg Who has been injured for the DustmxAcademy team lent his bike out, Kyle B came out with another good start and his form is starting to show, even on a borrowed bike he was able to push and fight for the lead the young rider was flowing through the track with the conditions getting worse his style has changed and for the better standing over all the bumps, a 2nd place finish showed he had potential in the 250D class taking the overall win

Open A/B (money Class)
With a $2000 purse up for grabs thanks to Thundercross mx park and no entry fee, it brought a whole lot of riders up to the plate,
Moto 1 Micheal Clarke and Tyler Livesay out the gate first into the the second turn Clarke
went wide leaving the inside open for Livesay the two riders came together hard with Clack coming out worse laying in the dirt he would pick the bike up and charge only to fall a few corners later. After the 1st lap Livesy would have the lead all the way to the finish with Dust in a strong 2nd place pushing all the way to the end, Sean Sattano would finish in 3rd place
Moto 2 Clarke was out for revenge he would take the holeshot and try to get away from Livesay who right on his heels Jeff mort would run in 3rd for a short while. Dean Dyess would get by him, Dust was coming back from a bad start he would first pass Mort and set his sites on Dyess, Dyess with local track knowledge had a whole lot of different line choices that was working for him, Dyess and Dust would go back and forth for a while before Dust would pull away and come in for a lonely 3rd place Livesay was 2nd and Clarke 1st

450C

Racso Bartra was out to redeem himself and DustmxAcademy after all the trouble in the 250C He would come out with a good start although a little too anxious to get to the front and some costly little mistakes held him back finishing in 6th. With Robert Vogel taking the win followed by a good ride by Mike Morgan coming through the field.
Moto 2 Racso came out front and was leading after the first lap he was looking to prove that this is where he belongs, Racso's cornering was really good and had many comments by riders, parents and friends all day on how he is improving. This was the ride he put all of what he has learned together. The whole race he was smooth and fast pushing till the finish, he came away with the win.

450D
Kyle was on another borrowed bike this time a Suzuki in moto 1 he was only able to get 3rd just trying to keep the damage down as he was looking to take the championship title.
Moto 2 Kyle was back on the DustmxAcademy bike of Kyle Smorenburg he came out with alot more aggression he wanted the win he wanted the title and was proving to everyone tha the deserved it on a foreign bike he took the last moto win of the series.

450A
Dustin was just behind Donald Solley and Micheal Clarke after 2 laps Dustin would stall the bike just after the whoops on lap 3 Solley would have a big crash ending his day handing the win to Clarke
moto2 Clarke would have the holeshot Dust got by Colton Mcleod early on and went after Clarke however Clarke would take it all the way with Dust hot on his heels.
